Black Label Recording Studios

About Black Label Studios

Music has always been one of my greatest passions.   When I purchased my house in the Spring of 2003, there was no doubt in my mind that I would need a practice space for my drums and band.  What I didn't know is that building this space would inevitably change my life and career. During the first year, my friends and I painstakingly constructed a soundproof room in the basement using a hollow cinder-block wall filled with sand, surrounded by a decoupled sheetrock wall on each side.  The result was a 70db soundproof room!   This amazing accomplishment allowed unrestricted playing of even the loudest music through all hours of the morning with absolutely no complaints from the neighbors.

Through a few battle-of-the-bands wins, and several other gear acquisitions we had a fully functional digital recording studio at our disposal.  With my previous recording experience, and studio internship knowledge I quickly picked up the new gear and started recording personal projects.

Word began spread through the local music community and I eventually received a request from Centralia, a local metal band looking to record their first demo.  The resulting recording was more than either of us could have hoped for.  Everything snowballed from this point, and within a few months I was getting more recording contracts and audio work then I could handle.  Since then I have had the pleasure of recording many groups ranging from Metal to Rock and Rap to Electroclash.

As of 2007, I have sold the property and put the tangible studio on hiatus. Currently, I am in search of a better location to set up a new live room, but I am still available for production and field recording.  For more information, contact me via email.
